It has been a delightful experience and we achieved amazing things in a short time. Like all programs, the 13th District Rotaract Representative Training Seminar (DRRETS) began with planning and preparation. But this time, everything was done virtually. The experience is not a walk in the park. However, that did not hamper our teamwork and productivity. We realized that we were more connected than ever. We had a belief in developing a leadership seminar that offers a unique and engaging experience. We had a great team working behind the scenes to ensure everything goes according to plan. We had incredible speakers who are all well-versed in their fields ready to share new learnings. And for that, we are grateful.
The DRRETS is the annual pre-term leadership training of incoming district Rotaract Representatives (DRR) and Pilipinas Rotaract Multi-District Information Organization (MDIO) leaders in the Philippines. The Rotaract Club of San Francisco del Monte Malaya Achievers, together with Rotary International District 3780, took the challenge of hosting this training program in helping set the mindset of our national Rotaract leaders for transformation and in support of our incoming Pilipinas Rotaract MDIO Chair Louie de Real who comes from our Rotaract Club.
We are thankful for the support of each incoming Rotaract leader. We deeply appreciate the efforts and participation of our district leaders. We received a lot of great comments and reviews about our first virtual DRRETS which would not have been possible without them. Our thirty-five (35) participants gave an overall satisfaction rating of 4.74 or Excellent (over a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the highest). The training components of program length, program flow and timing, topics discussed, virtual engagement activities and technical management all got excellent ratings of 4.69 to 4.80.
Below are the post-DRRETS thoughts of some of the participants.
“The 13th DRRETS embraced the New Normal that made the most of technology. It is even interactive despite not having it physically. It had also very substantial discussions from the most competent and reputable speakers who helped us in our journey as the Transform DRRs this coming Rotary Year. It is direct to the point. The best and historic DRRETS in the milestone of Pilipinas Rotaract." - Richard Jeric Chua, DRRE of RID 3850
“Hats off organizers! It was truly that the incoming year's theme talked itself alone. Continue to transform and make the best for our organization.” – Daniel Balubal, DRRN of RID 3770
“The most enticing part of this DRRETS was the inclusion of participation from Rotaractors outside our country. It gave us an idea on how they manage their districts which may be new to us. We can use it as a benchmark in continually improving in our own ways.” – Joshua Benhur Macaraig, PDRR of RID 3830
“DRRETS 2020 will be the bellwether for the whole Transform Year and will be a benchmark for the succeeding DRRETS!” – Manuel Joseph Franco, Pilipinas Rotaract MDIO Chair Nominee
We will not forget this tremendous success made possible by collaborative efforts. We are at the end of the journey, but it doesn’t stop here – and it will soon be time to be thinking about organizing the next one. To extend our gratitude, here are our organizing committee members with their short messages of appreciation.
"My heart is overflowing with gratitude knowing that the people behind the very successful 13th DRRETS were my colleagues from the Rotaract Club of San Francisco Del Monte Malaya Achievers and the Rotary International District 3780 (RID3780). As the incoming Chair of Pilipinas Rotaract MDIO, it is very encouraging to lead knowing that Rotaract leaders across the ten member districts are very eager to learn and be agents of transforming and elevating Pilipinas Rotaract. I am also very grateful to our supportive Rotary leaders in the Philippines, in the region and the Rotary International President Elect Holger Knaack himself. They echoed the important value of Rotaract in shaping the organization. Indeed, we can do a lot more if Rotary and Rotaract work closely TOGETHER."
- Louie de Real, Chairperson Elect, Pilipinas Rotaract MDIO
“It is with utmost gratitude that I express my appreciation to the dedicated 13th DRRETS organizing team from my home Club and home District, the Rotaract Club of San Francisco Del Monte Malaya Achievers and the Rotary International District 3780, respectively. Let me extend my sincerest thanks to our District Governor Bernadette Herrera-Dy and District Governor Elect Johnny Yu for the support and guidance that they had given. With the success of the first-ever virtual DRRETS, we have once again proved Rotaract's commitment and capability to adhere to Rotary's Vision. Our revered speakers, panelists and moderators, as well as the active participants, helped us realize the goals we had in mind when we planned and prepared for this training. As an incoming leader of the District, I am honored and humbled by the outpour of support.”
- Dianna Isabelle Desuyo Chair, DRRETS 2020 Chair and RID3780 DRRN

The first-ever Virtual Training Seminar will definitely be one attestation that our commitment to train our future leaders and to serve our communities will not be hampered. I would like to extend my appreciation to DG Bernadette Herrera, DGE Johnny Yu and all the PDRRs and PDGs who shared their time and expertise to ensure the success of the event. My sincerest gratitude goes to all our participants for supporting the 3-day seminar. We hope that you all had a wonderful learning experience. Thank you and may we all Inspire, Connect, and Transform for Pilipinas Rotaract for Rotary Year 2020-2021."

May these learnings be applied in your respective districts and give a harmonious leadership as you as serve as DRR this Rotary Opens Opportunities year.”

All your presence helped to make this event a great success and memorable. I would also like to express my praise and gratitude to our speakers for sharing their time and expertise. Indeed, the training seminar was not meant to be a single event. It is a starting point for the plans and initiatives that must be done to align in the Rotary’s strategies priorities. As we go beyond our endeavours, let us unite and be ready to transform. Again, thank you all for being part of our DRRETS 2020.”
