The official newsletter and blog handle of the Pilipinas Rotaract Multi-District Information Organization

About the Name and Logo

The Balangay played an important role in Philippine history as it was believed to have been used in trade throughout the Philippine archipelago and neighboring countries. Just like the Balangay, Pilipinas Rotaract MDIO connects the Rotaractors of the ten Rotary International districts in the country by facilitating communication and disseminating information.

The Balangay signifies unity, cooperation, resilience, and sense of community in Pilipinas Rotaract. Just like the symbolism of the Balangay, Pilipinas Rotaract will persist its journey of inspiring the Filipino youth and transforming the nation regardless of the big waves it may encounter.

The newsletter and blog name was conceptualized by Marc Leo Butac, member of the Rotaract Club of Quezon City Central, who won in the Name the Pilipinas Rotaract MDIO Newsletter Contest held in 2018. Meanwhile, the Balangay icon was designed by John Richard Sagum, Past President of the Rotaract Club of Freeport Zone.
